Visiting the dentist is not like a visit to the doctor. There are many things that go wrong with your teeth and gums long before you will notice any symptoms. Unfortunately, a lack of pain and discomfort is no guarantee your teeth and gums are healthy. A great deal of what a dentist does is preventing problems rather than treating them.
Six months is generally accepted as the maximum time between visits for someone with healthy teeth and gums. Your Gentle Dental Care dentist will catch small problems early rather than risk expensive treatment later.
As a minimum treatment your dentist (or hygienist) examines your teeth, mouth and gums to provide any necessary treatment for tooth decay or gum disease. We will also give you a thorough scale and clean to remove plaque and tartar from all tooth surfaces and finish with a polish.
Regular dental visits are critical at any age for the maintenance of good dental health.
Our Gentle Dental Care support staff will always send a reminder (by mail or email if you prefer) to let you know when your appointment is due and we will call to confirm your appointment a day or so beforehand.
