It's all about prevention…

The key to successful oral health is identifying and treating potential problems before they become an issue. At Gentle Dental Care we work with you to develop a customized dental hygiene plan that incorporates dental examination, tooth cleaning and may include tooth scaling and X-rays.

The goal is to prevent, uncover or treat problems as early as possible. Professional cleaning is a preventive procedure that should be done at least every six months – more frequently for some at-risk individuals. Regular cleaning keeps your teeth free from plaque and prevents many problems before they begin.

At Gentle Dental Care we combine cleanings with a complete oral examination. We have 3 full time hygienists who support our dentists and perform all your cleaning and scaling. It's their responsibility to ensure your teeth and gums are clean and healthy.

Treatment plans

Every patient has a treatment plan and every treatment plan incorporates a variety of procedures to help prevent decay or disease of the teeth, mouth, gums and tongue. We also use restorative dentistry procedures to repair tooth decay, tooth trauma or any disease of the teeth and gums.

On occasions, a sealant may be recommended by your Gentle Dental Care dentist. A sealant is a plastic resin material that is applied to the chewing surfaces of posterior (back) teeth. This preventive measure seals out plaque and food from the grooves and pits in teeth that are prime targets for decay. Many teenagers and adults need sealants to prevent decay formation.
