Sometimes we can't repair a tooth. It may be too badly damaged by trauma or decay and effectively beyond repair. However, teeth can be restored.

Crowns and bridges are cosmetic techniques to restore the appearance of your teeth even where the original tooth or teeth are badly damaged – or even missing.

Crowns

A crown is a cover that fits perfectly over any remaining tooth structure. They are generally made from porcelain or gold alloys and strengthen and protect your teeth from further decay. Crowns are tremendously effective in restoring the appearance of your smile and full function for the tooth.

Bridges

Where a tooth is missing, a replacement tooth can be attached to two crowns which are then attached to the adjacent teeth. Because the open space is bridged together this is called a Bridge.

This is an ideal way to replace a missing tooth and to restore full function and aesthetics. A bridge can also be used to replace multiple missing teeth.
